Super Quick Lentil and Kale Dahl: £0.34 per serve

Image may contain: textHi.

This whole studying thing isn’t going too well for me at the moment because my motivation booked a really cheap flight to Norway and has gone wild camping for a while. I’m sure it’ll be due about approximately 24 hours before my first exam.

So, in the meantime, here’s another recipe, which is quicker than my last dahl recipe and less effort. It serves 4-5 so portion this shit UP and put it in the freezer.

You will need:

  • 250g of red lentils – £0.33
  • Just under 750ml of veg stock £0.10
  • 2 TBSP of curry paste £0.27
  • tin of tomatoes £0.29
  • 100g Kale £0.30
  • 2 onions, roughly chopped £0.20
  • 3 cloves of garlic £0.15
  • some grated fresh ginger (I use a piece around the size of a dormouse) £0.06
  • chilli flakes to your likening £?
  • 10 dibdabs (joke) £150

What u do

Fry your onion and chilli and ginger and garlic and curry paste and dibdabs on medium in a sploosh of oil. When thine onion is translucent, pour in your lentils and then add the stock and tomatoes. Let that all reduce down for 15-20 minutes on low, until the lentils are starting to lose their shape. Add the kale and put the lid on for 10-15 more minutes or until it’s gone all wilty and cooked. I like this with some bread to mop up the sauce.

That’s literally it. I’ll go do some work now.
